Kurds Seek Positions in New Iraqi Government and Parliament

Representatives of Kurdish social and political organizations want to receive positions in the new government and parliament in Iraq. Representative of Democratic Party Kurdistan in the CIS Hoshvi Babakr told Rosbalt on Friday at a press conference entitled 'Iraqi Crisis and the Kurdish question' that Kurds are coming out in favour of federalism and creation of a multi-party system in Iraq. Moreover, he said that it is necessary to work out new rules for managing the country. 'Income from the sale of oil must be distributed proportionally according to the population of the country,' said Babakr. 'Americans are dividing the position of the Kurds on the question of the future political structure of Iraq," he said.
