At a session of a joint intergovernment commission Ukraine and Azerbaijan have signed six bilateral documents regulating economic cooperation issues. These documents include agreements to protect copyright and visa-free visits by citizens of the two countries, as well as cooperation between railways of Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
The government delegations are headed by first deputy Ukrainian prime minister, Oleh Dubyna, and first deputy prime minister of Azerbaijan, Abbas Abbasov.
Moreover, the Ministry of Industrial Policy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan have signed an agreement to enhance bilateral cooperation in the machine-building industries.
Ukraine and Azerbaijan recorded an almost 15-per-cent decline in trade turnover in 2001.
