IAEA Director-General: Russia May Become Mediator in Solving North Korean Crisis

Russia 'may take the first step towards solving the North Korean crisis.' As a Rosbalt correspondent reports, this announcement was made by IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) Director-General Mohamed El-Baradei at a press conference in Moscow today. He said that the interested parties are currently trying to find a solution to the North Korean crisis. 'It is clear that the world community must help North Korea to solve its problems, including those in the energy and food industries. There is already the basis of a solution but this must be developed,' said Mr El-Baradei. In his opinion, Russia could take on the role of 'initiator' in view of its geographical location.
