Informal Summit of CIS Leaders to Take Place in Ukraine 28-29 January

An informal summit of CIS leaders is to take place in the Ivano-Frankov Region of the Ukraine on January 28-29. As Governor of the region Mikhail Vyshivanyuk announced at a press conference, it will be an informal meeting and will be held at the Sinegora state residence. It is expected that leaders of at least nine CIS countries will attend.

Local authorities are currently preparing a cultural programme for the guests which will include a visit to the best ski resorts in the Ukraine and participation in theatrical performances. The last such meeting of CIS leaders took place at the end of March 2002 at the Chimbulak resort in Kazakhstan.
