The group of representatives of Lithuania's Ministry of Environment headed by Emilis Gustainis, Deputy Minister, participating in the 3rd session of the interparliamentary forum of Lithuanian parliament and the administration of the Kaliningrad Region believe that the development by LUKoil of the D-6 oilfield near the Kursh Spit on the Baltic Sea is only possible if the company uses modern technologies and brings in foreign surveyors.
Russia offered to inform Lithuania ter geological survey done on the Baltic Shelf and around the Kursh Spit. The state expert research of the D-6 oilfield had been just done. The administration of the Kaliningrad Region said it would get its results from Moscow and made them available to Lithuania.
