Putin on Ukraine Conflict: US Delegation Coming to Moscow

Putin Comments on Trump’s Peace Plan for Ukraine and Future Russian Diplomacy

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that US President Donald Trump’s peace plan for resolving the conflict in Ukraine is a set of discussion points rather than a full treaty proposal. Russia generally agrees that the US proposals could form the basis of future agreements, but emphasized that the draft must be translated into “diplomatic language.”

“Overall, we see that the American side takes our position into account in some areas. Somewhere we certainly need to sit down and discuss specific issues. Everything needs to be translated into diplomatic language,” Putin said.

“If Ukrainian forces withdraw from the territories they occupy, the hostilities will cease. If they do not, we will achieve this by armed means.”

Military Progress and Casualties

Putin also commented on the pace of the Russian army’s operations in the Special Military Operation (SMO) zone. According to TASS, in October, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost approximately 47,000 personnel. The Russian military is accelerating offensive actions and maintaining positive operational dynamics, the president noted during a press conference following his visit to Kyrgyzstan.

Strategic Arms Treaty and US-Russia Talks

The Russian president stated that if the United States does not wish to extend the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START III), “it is not necessary.”

After Geneva negotiations, 28 points of the US peace plan were divided into four sections. Russia is also prepared to formally declare that it has no intention of attacking Europe, dismissing claims of an impending European invasion as false.

Putin announced that a US delegation will visit Moscow next week. The American leader Donald Trump will determine who represents Washington in talks with Russian officials. Russian negotiators will include representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Medinsky, and Ushakov.

Humanitarian Cooperation and Energy Projects

Russian and Ukrainian intelligence services remain in contact on humanitarian issues. Putin also stated that Russia is prepared to construct a small-scale nuclear power plant in Kyrgyzstan if the government in Bishkek approves the project. “We have plans, potentially, for the construction of small nuclear power plants. If Kyrgyzstan decides on this, our colleagues are in contact with each other,” he said, emphasizing that Russia is uniquely equipped to carry out such projects.

Strengthening Regional Alliances

Earlier, Putin affirmed that Moscow will continue collaborating with allies to strengthen the military potential of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). According to him, Russia aims to develop cooperation among member states based on the principles of genuine alliance, friendship, and good neighborliness.
