The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has completed several operations to sever channels of drug smuggling into Russian territory from Central Asia. Specifically, 56 kilogrammes of heroin of Afghan origin has been seized in Samara, on the Volga river, the FSB public relations center reported Tuesday. In the course of this operation, which cut short the activities of a gang of drug smugglers, 14 people have been arrested and over 100 kilogrammes of heroin and 20 kilogrammes of raw opium seized.
