Mikhail Gorbachev is expected to meet with US President George Bush and Secretary of State Colin Powell in Washington on Monday. RIA Novosti correspondent learned this from a source in the delegation accompanying the ex-president of the USSR on a trip round the USA. Gorbachev is also expected to meet with Condoleezza Rice, the US President's National Security Adviser. Mikhail Gorbachev said in an earlier conversation with journalists that during "the contemplated meetings in the White House, Department of State and US Congress" he intends to discuss Russian-American relations in which, he said, the need is ripe for a "new agenda" that would preserve everything positive and constructive accumulated by the two nations. On Sunday Mikhail Gorbachev met with journalists aboard the historic presidential yacht Sequoia during the charity action in support of the Raisa Gorbachev International Memorial Foundation and the Russian centre for combating children's leukemia.
