Ballet stars from the Opera de Paris (Grand Opera) national theatre will perform on the stage of the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow on April 21 and 22. The history of the ballet troupe of that theatre, considered as one of the world's most famous, goes back to 1661 when the Royal Dance Academy was set up. The history of the Opera de Paris has seen different stages, including romanticism, decadence, the period connected with the activities of outstanding Russian impresario Sergei Dyagilev, and Serge Lifar's period. Rudolf Nuriyev, Patrick Dupont and Elizabeth Platel performed there in our days. Among those who will take part in the gala concert on the Kremlin Palace stage will be such stars of the ballet troupe as Elizabeth Marin, Elizabeth Platel, Isabel Guerin, and Kadere Belarbie. The program includes duets to the music by Tchaikovsky, Prokofyev, Adam, Mahler and Schubert. The program also includes fragments from the ballets "The Nutcracker," "Giselle," "Romeo and Juliet," as well as modern choreographic pieces.
