The Giant-4 barge is expected to arrive at the Kursk salvage operation site in the afternoon, September 26, said Tuesday Vladimir Navrotsky, spokesman for the Northern Fleet. According to him, the barge can arrive only if all guides are installed in the cleared technological holes till the end of Tuesday, September 25. Currently 5 holes are to be cleared on the Kursk's seventh and eighth compartments. Navrotsky also pointed out that 20 to 24 hours will be required to set the anchors and special strands to keep the barge above the sunken submarine. He said that according to meteorologists' forecasts, weather conditions would favour the Kursk salvage operation for three days starting with September 27.
