Hollywood actor Lindsay Lohan has been sentenced to 90 days in jail for failing to attend alcohol education classes.
Lohan, who starred in Freaky Friday and Mean Girls, burst into tears after the sentencing. She will also be required to enter a rehabilitation programme after her release, The Guardian says.
Lindsay must start her jail term on July 20, and she has to also serve 90 days as an inpatient on a substance abuse program once she is released.
Lindsay's lawyer urged Judge Revel not to be too harsh on her client as she "did the best she could under extremely difficult circumstances."
But the judge wasn't to be swayed, saying: "I couldn't have been more clear [about my orders]. There are no excuses.", Hellomagazine informs.
