World film star Fanny Ardant arrives in Moscow

World film star Fanny Ardant arrives in the Russian capital on Friday, June 27th.

At the 25th Moscow international film festival the famous French actress will present the film by Franco Zefirelli "Callas Forever", where she performed the leading role of an opera prima donna. The film will be shown on June 29th at the festival's closing ceremony.

According to Ardant, to grow into the role of the great singer she had to learn opera parts used in the film.

Franco Zefirelli who had known Maria Callas was very pleased with Ardant's work. "On the screen she was more like Callas than Callas herself," he said.

Critics described the duet of Fanny Ardant and Jeremy Irons, who performed the role of billionaire Onassis, as last year's best.
