Russian cargo spacecraft to be launched to the ISS on Sunday

The Russian launch vehicle Soyuz-U and the cargo spacecraft Progress M1-10 are being launched from the Baikonur launching site at 14:43 Moscow time on Sunday, a source at the Baikonur launching site told RIA Novosti by telephone.

It will be Russia's second launch of a cargo spacecraft to the International Space Station after the Columbia shuttle disaster. The first launch took place on February 2, two days after the loss of the shuttle.

The cargo spacecraft will provide Expedition 7 consisting of Captain Yury Malenchenko of Russia and flight engineer Edward Lu of the USA with about 2.5 tons of goods, including food, water, and fuel, as well as with a number of parcels from their friends and relatives.
