The Rosoboronexport order book now stands at about 12 billion dollars' worth, Alexander Smelyakov has said on Tuesday. He is the chief of the public and mass media relations service of the leading Russian exporter of armaments and munitions.
"The set of measures taken by the Rosoboronexport management has ensured an annual buildup of military export supplies and currency revenues. In the past year it reached a record level of military supplies abroad - over 4 billion American dollars", said Smelyakov.
To him, Rosoboronexport met and beaten by over 30 percent the export plan for the first half of 2003 and the indicators for the current level will exceed last year's.
"Today Rosoboronexport accounts for over 80 percent of the Russian export of a wide range of military and dual-purpose products. The bulk of supplies is aviation products. The share of armaments and munitions for the navy and air defence is tending to increase", Smelyakov said.
He specially noted that Rosoboronexport has mastered a commercially promising area - the promotion to the world market of high-tech products created by the Russian defence sector on the innovatory basis to meet consumer needs.
"Today Rosoboronexport offers to its foreign partners not only individual specimens of arms and military hardware but also comprehensive solutions for unfolding national systems of defence of land, air and sea borders. It offers repair works and regional service centres for post-guarantee service of military products supplied earlier", Smelyakov said.
To him, "Rosoboronexport-offered packages of tender proposals are among the best as regards the price-quality criterion, which is Russia's traditionally strong side, and also as regards offset offers".
