The Russian-Cypriot consultations on the visa problem will take place in Moscow, reported Ambassador of Cyprus to Moscow Andreas Georgiadis.
"The consultations between the Deputy Foreign Ministers of Russia and Cyprus, Vladimir Chizhov and Sotos Zackheos, will concern both the visa question and the whole complex of bilateral agreements," said the ambassador.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of Cyprus will also meet in Moscow with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Razov, said the ambassador.
On Saturday, the sides will discuss consular issues, the ambassador of Cyprus said.
Cyprus will become a member of the European Union on May 1, 2004. In this connection, from January 1, 2004 Cyprus must introduce visas for Russians visiting the island.
Earlier Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Chizhov said both sides were interested in that the introduction of the visa regime should not have negative consequences for reciprocal trips between the two countries.
