An active stage of a cruise involving the Baltic Fleet ships has begun within the framework of scheduled exercises, the press service of the fleet reported on Monday.
Warships and auxiliary vessels, land and coastal forces, air defence forces and maritime aviation will take part in the exercises.
The training activities mean rocket and artillery shooting championship of the Russian Navy in combat and tactical training. A landing party and parachute landing on an unequipped coast of the Khmelyovka training ground (the Kaliningrad region, Russian exclave at the Baltic Sea) have been scheduled for August 21st.
"The main aim of the exercises is a comprehensive inspection whether the forces and the fleet are ready to carry out complex training tasks at sea and ashore," the press service of the Baltic Fleet underlined.
