A branch office of the Russian "Ural" motor works resumes its activities in Iraq today. The motor works located in the city of Miass in the Chelyabinsk Region in Southeast of European Russia produces trucks.
The administration of the motor works said that at first its branch office in Iraq was damaged during combats and then ransacked. At present, specialists of the motor works are repairing the branch office, then the office will continue operating as usual.
Last year about 2,500 "Ural" trucks were delivered to Iraq. Before the war Iraq had been the main market for the motor works - about half of all trucks produced was delivered there.
The motor works planned to deliver 2,000 trucks to Iraq this year, however, the deliveries were stopped after the Iraq war had begun.
