Vladimir Putin has not yet decided if he will run for a second term as president.
Putin reminded the press that the presidential elections would only be held next year.
"The time will come, the pre-election period will be declared and I shall take the decision," the Russian leader said in answer to a journalist's question at a Kremlin press conference.
Putin said that election fever was something inappropriate for him. "I have a lot of other worries," he commented.
The president pointed out that he and the government were aiming to work constructively, so that they were not distracted in any way by the forthcoming State Duma elections.
