Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov noted the need for expanding the throughput capacity of Novorossiisk, a major Russian port on the Black Sea.
Addressing the maritime collegium April 30 here, Kasyanov stressed that Novorossiisk was this country's main commercial port.
This is the largest Russian port, Kasyanov noted. Novorossisk's throughput capacity can be expanded considerably without any substantial investment; and we must use such ample opportunities, Kasyanov went on to say.
In his words, the maritime collegium's session in Novorossiisk aims to implement the relevant maritime policy for the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
According to Kasyanov, this session also intends to discuss the more active exploration of the Black Sea's resources, as well as those in the Sea of Azov.
