Gov't Makes Changes to 2003 Privatization Program

The government of the Russian Federation made changes to the drafted plan for the privatization of the federal property in 2003. This program was approved by a corresponding government resolution on August 20, 2002. According to the Government Information Department, a resolution with changes was signed by Premier Mikhail Kasyanov on April 15, 2003. According to the new version of the program, shares of 1,978 companies (1,931 public and 47 closed ones), 911 federal state unitary enterprises and a government stake in one limited company will be sold by the state in 2003.
