A gunman who was trained at "Khattab's school" and took part in the bandit formations' intrusion into Daghestan (South of the European part of Russia) in August-September 1999 has been detained in Stavropol Territory (South of the European part of Russia), reported the press service of the Ministry of the Interior of Daghestan on Tuesday. The detained man, Rasul Ilyasov, was born in 1975, is a resident of Stavropol Territory and belongs to the so-called "Nogais company." He was arrested during an operation carried out on April 20-23 by the law-enforcement bodies of Daghestan. The press service of the Interior Ministry of Daghestan noted that Ilyasov has taken a course of special training in camps on the territory of Chechnya. In particular, since April 1999 he underwent training in the "Kavkaz" Islamic Institute (Khattab's camp) situated between the settlements of Serzhen-Yurt and Avtury, and received the speciality of sub-machine gunner.
