President of France Jacques Chirac will pay a visit to Moscow on July 1-3, this year. In autumn, prime minister of France Lionel Jospin will visit Russia. This information was provided by vice premier of the Russian government Ilya Klebanov during his meeting with French minister of research Roger-Gerard Schwartzenberg who is now in Moscow. Klebanov pointed out that France is among ten most important trade partners of Russia. He expressed hope that the countries will intensify interaction in the spheres of high technologies, space and aviation. Klebanov also reported that ministers of the countries, which are the members of the European space agency, will meet in November to adopt a decision on a new project with the use of the Russian booster rocket Soyuz. The vice premier said that the Russian side is interested in cooperation with France in the spheres of aviation and space, particularly, with the Aerobus company for the production of A-380 planes. Klebanov pointed out that Russia and France has made a steady progress in the sphere of remote sounding of the earth with the aim of forecasting earthquakes, fires and floods. The minister said that a smooth progress has been achieved in nuclear power engineering.
