A Delegation Of U.S. Military Physicians Arrives In Vladivostok

A delegation of military physicians of the U.S. Pacific Force Command is arriving in Vladivostok (the Russian Far East) today. RIA Novosti was informed of this by the health department of the territorial administration. Together with their colleagues from the Maritime Territorial Centre of the Medicine of Catastrophes, U.S. medics will take part in a symposium on first-aid medical assistance. The subject to be discussed at the second Russian symposium, which will be held at the Vladivostok Medical University, is "Pressing Problems of Tuberculosis at the Turn of the Century." Apart from this, American physicians will take part in a number of business round-table discussions devoted to topical problems of social medicine and ecology. This is the third visit of U.S. military medics to the Maritime Territory. Some local hospitals, including the Centre of the Medicine of Catastrophes, are fitted out with modern medical instruments and equipment presented by U.S. military medics.
