Media-Most dropped its suit

Media-Most has dropped its suit to the Preobrazhensky Intermunicipal Court to abolish the decision of Gazprom Media's daughter company Leadville Investment Ltd. to convene an extraordinary session of NTV shareholders in Moscow on April 3, 2001. According to head of Media-Most's arbitrary court work Aleksander Polozok, consideration of the suit is no longer valid. In Polozok's words, a statement on renouncing the lawsuit was filed to the courts by mail on Thursday. Media-Most turned down an analogous suit in the Saratov regional court, added Polozok. He explained that the Presnensky Court and the Court of Arbitration of Moscow had Media-Most's suits on annihilating the decisions adopted by the NTV shareholders on April 3. Polozok added that the suit to the Presnensky Court had been filed on behalf of Yevgeny Kiselyov, former director general of NTV, while the suit to the Court of Arbitration had been filed on behalf of Media-Most to the NTV company and the Leadville Investment Ltd. On March 30, a foreign shareholder of NTV - the Media-Most Capital and Management Limited - and a number of NTV chief executives, including Kiselyov, filed a suit to the Preobrazhensky Court of Moscow. Plaintiffs maintained that the company Gazprom Media had illegally slated the date of the extraordinary session of the TV company's board on April 3, since the board of directors had already scheduled the shareholders' meeting for March 12 in Gibraltar.
