Husband kills wife at consent of doctors and court

The conference of specialist doctors has allowed a resident of the US city of Saint Petersburg, Florida, to administer a lethal injection to his wife who has been in coma since 1990. According to Western news agencies, the euthanasia was permitted by the Supreme Court of the State of Florida. A 37-yearold Teresa Shiavo has for a decade been maintained alive only with the help of special devices while her brain, according to doctors, has been dead. The court ruling has been preceded by a decade-long dispute between Teresa’s husband, Michael, and her parents who oppose euthanasia.
