Russia's Ministry of Finance will auction on Wednesday short-term government bonds (SGB) for the total nominal price of 3 billion rubles (the current exchange rate is 28.86 R/$), the Ministry of Finance reports. This issue of SGB will be registered under the number 21149. The nominal price of one bond is 1,000 rubles. The maturity date of this issue is October 17, 2001. The potential purchasers of these bonds are both residents and non-residents of Russia. The bonds will be offered at an auction organized by the Central Bank of Russia on a commission from the Ministry of Finance. The auction will take place at the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange. Since the beginning of this year, the Ministry of Finance has launched five issues of short-term bonds for the total nominal price of about 15 billion rubles.
