Siberia says goodbye to television

In the city of Krasnoyarsk, broadcasting of nationwide television networks has completely broken down. Local television companies and radio stations have also become mute. It has happened apart from the fact that earlier broadcasts cut off due to the Ekran satellite malfunction have not yet been restored in full. As PRAVDA.RU has already reported, telecasting in Krasnoyarsk has been halted due to indebtedness to power companies – the latter did not hesitate to turn the knife-switch. As a result, the huge Krasnoyarsk Territory is left without television. In the meantime, an Ekran-M satellite, meant to replace the defected one, is to blast off from the Baikonur cosmodrome tomorrow.
