2 Syrian businessmen were detained in the Cairo airport on Friday. A great number of tablets of viagra, a popular drug stimulating men’s potency, were seized from them - 600 tablets being hidden in 12 sandwithes, 500 tablets in a box of sweets, and another 500 tablets under the jacket’s lining. The Syrians said they were hoping to profitably sell the pills in Cairo. Viagra smuggling appears to have been a lucrative business in Egypt. The Cairo customs had already confiscated a batch of 10,000 tablets in January this year, according to RIA Novosti. It was only in January that Egypt’s health ministry permitted to sell viagra on showing a doctor’s prescription, while on the black market it costed $40 a pill.
