14 are reported to have died while 32 survived the sinking on January 29 of the Ukrainian ship Pamyat Merkuriya, 160 kilometers off the Crimean city of Sevastopol in the Black Sea. Five are still missing. The press service of Ukraine’s Ministry for Emergency Situations has told Interfax that there were 51 people onboard, including 20 passengers. At 4 p.m. on Sunday, reports came that the ship owned by the Sata company had failed to return to its destination on time. The ship making charter voyages between the Crimean city of Yevpatoria and Istanbul had left the Turkish port on Friday. The captain, who has survived, said the ship had sunk at 6.52 p.m. on Friday.
