Today, November 21st, Denmark is to present Estonia with a solid gift, the frigate Beskifferen built 25 years ago in the shipyards of the city of Alborg. The frigate is sure to strengthen the Estonian Navy to a great extent. It is going to become the Estonian Navy’s flagship and the largest warship of the Baltic states. It will be renamed into the Admiral Pitka. The frigate is arriving in Tallinn where a pompous ceremony will take place, RIA Novosti reports. Estonian President Lennart Meri, Danish Comander-in-Chief general Christian Hvidt, and Estonian Defence Force Chief Rear Admiral Tarmo Kiuts are to attend the ceremony.
