Russia "cannot agree" with the wording of the British-American-Spanish resolution on Iraq, which says that there is no alternative to a military solution for the Iraq crisis, the RIA Novosti correspondent quotes a high-ranking representative of the Kremlin administration as saying on Wednesday.
"The text of the new resolution is unconvincing and contains a heavy fact-stating portion", he said. Russia is ready for work with a resolution which intends continuation of international arms inspections in Iraq but not with a resolution which is 'a step towards war'.
The Kremlin prophecies two versions of voting on this resolution in the United Nations Security Council - it is either rejected without getting a majority, or is vetoed, which is "less preferable".
