Russia and Poland to sign agreement on oil supplies

The heads of the Russian and Polish governments have commissioned corresponding government agencies to start preparing an intergovernmental agreement on oil supplies and oil transit through Poland, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov declared at a news conference in Warsaw after his negotiations with Polish Prime Minister Leszek Miller. According to Kasyanov, the negotiations on this issue are to be completed in the near future.

Moreover, the officials have agreed to prepare and sign a number of intergovernmental agreements on military and technical cooperation. Kasyanov also said that in the near future an agreement on constructing the highway Kaliningrad-Elblong would be signed. The PMs also commissioned the Foreign Ministries to conduct consultations regarding visa procedures. As reported earlier, effective July 1, 2003 Poland is to introduce visa procedures for Russian citizens.
