There will be no Korean war, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Geopolitical Problems, former Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Russian Armed Forces Headquarters Leonid Ivashov believes.
No country in the region, including China "is interested in waging a war," he said at a press conference on Friday.
The Russian expert finds the Iraqi situation is different. For instance, "Israel is most interested" in a possible US military intervention in Iraq, Leonid Ivashov claims.
On the other hand, he believes Washington needs the Korean issue to "settle the situation in the Middle East." "Thus, Washington may pursue its nuclear speculations to get what it wants," former Russian military official believes.
