Sistema Corporation Hopes for Piece of India's Telecommunications Business

Despite the fact that the Sistema joint-stock financial corporation continues actively developing 12 existing business areas, telecommunications remains in the focus of its interests. This is according to Vladimir Yevtushenkov, the corporations Chairman of the Board of Directors. The Mobile Telecommunications Systems (MTS), East and Central European cellular operator, analysts believing it to be among Russia's companies the most attractive to investors, the MGTS regional cellular operator, and the Telecom system remain the most dynamically developing. Mr. Yevtushenkov said his corporation considered India as the most promising country as goes telecommunications and was already discussing business with prospective partners there.
