The United Russia and Communist Parties are the two most popular parties in Russia. If parliamentary election took place this next Sunday, the parties would win 24% of votes each, according to an opinion survey the Public Opinion foundation has held recently.
The Liberal Democratic and Yabloko Parties would have a chance to overcome the 5-percent margin. As of today, they enjoy support of 6% of the respondents each, said the foundation.
Other parties are not that popular and would not be able to overcome the 5-percent barrier. The Agrarian Party of Russia and the Union of Right Forces, for one, would secure support of as little as 3% of voters each.
The straw poll was carried out in cities and villages of 44 Russian Federation constituencies and covered 1,500 Russian residents.
