Government to buy defense products directly from manufacturers

All purchases included in the government order for defense products should be made directly from manufacturers of these products, Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister Vladislav Putilin told reporters after a government meeting, devoted to the questions of the order for defense products for this year. According to Putilin, this condition has been introduced for the first time, and it has to be strictly observed.

As it was reported earlier, the Russian government has approved the order for defense products for 2003. The amount of the government order for defense products for this year exceeded that of last year by one third.
