The coming checking of the fishing areas of the Russian Far East will be devoted to the problems of combating poaching in the Russian waters of the Pacific Ocean.
As was pointed out on Monday by the main department of the Russian Prosecutor's Office in the Far Eastern Federal District, the checking has been scheduled for next February. A representative commission will visit Kamchatka, Sakhalin, the Maritime region and other fishing regions of the Federal District.
The Prosecutor's Office intends to find out the reasons for a large-scale poaching and smuggling fish abroad in the Russian Far East despite the measures being taken. The checks will last for two months. After that, the Prosecutor's Office plans to adopt a package of resolutions aimed at intensifying the fight against poaching and smuggling fish abroad.
