Some 1,159,673 automobiles totaling $8.03bn were sold in Russia in the first nine months of this year, according to a report prepared by the Avtoselkhozmash holding.
Some 712,044 cars totaling $2.97bn were new Russian automobiles. The average price of an automobile was $4,173. Joint ventures sold 4,908 cars totaling $89.02m (the average price was $18,138). Some 352,970 old cars were sold in the reported period totaling $3.18bn (the average price was $9,000). Some 89,751 foreign automobiles that were not older than three years amounted to $1.795bn (the average price was $20,000).
As it was reported earlier, some 1,061,921 automobiles were produced in Russia in the first ten months of 2002, which was 2 percent higher than in the corresponding period of last year.
