The repairs of Russia's one and only aircraft carrier, the Admiral Kuznetsov, have finished in the city of Murmansk.

Before the end of the week, the vessel will travel to the Kola Bay, from where, after preparatory works, the aircraft carrier will  the training, it will stand out to sea. The repairs of the vessel were conducted from May till April 2015.

The Admiral Kuznetsov was named after Nikolai Kuznetsov, a famous admiral of the fleet of the USSR. The vessel is the largest aircraft carrier in Europe and Asia. It was first used in operation in 1985.

The ship is 306 meters long and can simultaneously carry 25 planes, helicopters and 1980 servicemen.
