In the Khorolsky district of Russia's Primorye region (the Far East), the population of wolves and foxes has increased considerably. The animals show a highly negative influence on agriculture. According to experts, there are about 113 wolves and about 535 red predators inhabiting the woods in the district, which exceeds the norm from three to six times.
As carriers of many infectious and parasitic diseases, foxes and wolves may cause outbreaks of dangerous disease during their frequent contacts with people and domestic animals. In such circumstances, veterinarians recommend routine vaccinations to protect livestock from unwanted infections.
