A Pakistan air force jet on a training flight crashed in southwestern Pakistan on Tuesday, killing the pilot, the military said.
The Chinese-made F-7 aircraft went down near Quetta because of a technical malfunction, air force spokesman Commodore Sarfraz Ahmad told The Associated Press.
He said a probe into the crash had been ordered, but provided no further details.
No injuries or damage on the ground were reported.
Air accidents are frequent in Pakistan's military, with Tuesday's crash at least the fourth since December. However, the pilots usually eject safely.
