The meteorological conditions in the area of the Klyuchevskoy Volcano on the Kamchatka peninsula (which is washed on the west by the waters of the Sea of Okhotsk, and on the east - of the Barents Sea) do not make it possible for the rescuers to render aid to the injured Czech tourist.
At night, a group of rescuers (mountain climbers) went to the volcano to help the 44-year-old Czech tourist who received a serious injury of the head when climbing the Klyuchevskoy Volcano (the highest active volcano in Asia and in Europe - 4,835 metres). Very soon they will start climbing.
The helicopter, which still remains at the foothill of the volcano, cannot fly to the place of the incident because of bad weather.
The tourist from the Czech Republic, one of the 20-member group of his countrymen, already reached the height of about 4,000 metres when he was injured at the head by a stone from the top of the volcano. After that the man was falling along the slope for some thirty metres.
At the present time the volcano is in the state of heightened activity. The height of the steam and gas ejections from the volcano reach 2,000 metres. The seismologists have fixed a great number of surface earthquakes and earthquakes at the depth of about thirty kilometres under the central crater.
