Three people were killed and seven wounded when a bus carrying Interior Ministry officers drove across a mine planted near the administrative border between two federal republics, North Ossetia/Alania and Ingushetia.
According to a source in the North Ingush Interior Ministry, the blast was reported at 11:00 Moscow time. A bus with 10 policemen returning from duty to Vladikavkaz, the administrative center of North Ossetia, had struck a landmine near the Tigr checkpoint in North Ossetia's Prigorodny district.
Interior Ministry officers and Prosecutor's Office employees, who were summoned to the site of the explosion, think the explosion might have been caused by a radio-controlled explosive device. Specialists in crime detection are busy examining the area.
