Last night militants fired at the location of the Temporary Department of Interior Ministry in Argun (a town in the Chechen Republic). According to information given by the press center of Russian Ministry of the Interior in the North Caucasus to the RIA Novosti correspondent, the policemen returned the fire and killed one of the attackers. The situation in Grozny (capital of Chechnya) remains tense. During the latest 24 hours, servicemen searching the area have found in the town 16 hand grenades, a 400-gram TNT bar, and 600 grams of plastic explosive. In addition, servicemen of the department of district inspectors at the Temporary Interior Department have found and destroyed in the Oktyabrskii district of Grozny 23 small facilities for illegal oil processing. In the Lenin district of the Chechen capital, the policemen have found and destroyed 13 illegal wells for oil extraction.
