A special operation in the Nozhai-Urt district of Chechnya has resulted in the death of three militants and the arrest of four persons suspected of involvement in military action. The operation in Southern Chechnya was conducted yesterday by units assigned to the military commandant's office of the temporary police department and other special services. According to the military commandant's office, "the militants have suffered considerable damage." In particular, nine arms caches were destroyed and more than 35,000 rounds of ammunition, several assault rifles, dozens of mines and shells were confiscated. Servicemen also found a carefully concealed communications centre and a satellite station. Officials of the commandant's office stressed that no servicemen had been wounded or killed during the operation.
