In Tajikistan, employees of a special presidential agency seized about 102 kg of raw opium.
In the course of a special operation, according to the press center of the presidential Drug Control Agency, DCA officers arrested a 34-year-old resident of the Moscow district of the Khatlonsky region, who was trying to smuggle 102 kg of raw opium out of Tajikistan. The drugs were found in a cache in his car, a Toyota Landcruiser-100.
Over the 20 days of January 2003, the republic's law enforcers thwarted 10 attempts to sell drugs and seized more than 135 kg of drug-containing substances.
