On board the plane of Germanwings airline there were 142 passengers and 8 crew members.
French Prime Minister Manuel Valls confirmed the crash of Airbus A320 in the area of Digne-les-Bains, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.

At the same time, officials at the Russian Consulate General in Bonn said that there is no information as to whether there were Russian citizens on board the crashed A320.
French President Francois Hollande declared his intention to hold talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and King Felipe VI of Spain about the tragedy in the south of France.
