The Federal Agency for Agricultural Control, Rosselhoznadzor, said that Russia was conducting negotiations with India about a possibility to import buffalo meat from India. The topic was raised at the discussion between representatives of the Russian service and the Embassy of India in Moscow.
The Indian side provided additional information necessary to consider the possibility of supplying buffalo meat to Russia. The parties will continue the discussion of this question after the Russian side studies the provided information, officials said.
India also expressed its interest in exporting dairy products to Russia, including milk powder and butter.
India is one of the largest exporters of food products and has access to many markets around the world, which speaks of the capacity of the Indian control system and Indian companies to meet requirements of different countries, reports Interfax.
