On August 15th, Russia suspended the import of alcohol drinks and beer from Ukraine.
"The Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare informs that in the implementation of state supervision over the circulation of food products, in the study of vodka, beer and beer drinks produced in Ukraine, numerous violations of the requirements of the legislation were revealed in the field of consumer rights protection (inconsistent labeling requirements)," the service said in a statement on Wednesday.
Restrictions were applied to beer products of JSC Obolon, Ukraine, which, according to Rospotrebnadzor, did not meet the requirements of energy value and organoleptic characteristics.
"In order to ensure the rights of consumers, Rospotrebnadzor, from August 15, 2014, suspends imports of alcoholic beverages, beer and beer beverages of specified manufacturers into the territory of the Russian Federation," said the agency.
All laboratory tests were carried out by laboratory testing centers accredited in Russian and international accreditation system.
