"Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad."
Last year's 9 May Victory Day celebration was an event of monumental proportions. It was a time for expressing our gratitude to those who gave their all so that we might be free.
However, this year, the tone is entirely different. Seventy-one years since the destruction of fascism, we are again faced with its ugly head. There are two outright conflicts going on now between the free world and the resurgent forces of fascism as we speak. There are also more subtle struggles going on, such as the empire's war against the BRICS countries and Venezuela/Cuba.
One very recent example of pernicious psychotic insanity coming from the US:
"'Putin-dominated' Russia is mistaken if it expects the US to surrender in a hypothetical conflict after Moscow nukes 'say, Warsaw,'" former NATO Supreme Allied Commander for Europe war criminal Wesley Clark told CNN, promising retaliatory measures.
War criminal Clark, the US is the ONLY country in the history of the world to have used NUCLEAR TERRORISM and you have the audacity to suggest Russia would do as you did?
Russia does not start wars, Russia ends wars. Just ask Hitler and Napoleon.
Another highly insane, psychotic statement comes from the one and only John Kerry:
"Secretary of State John Kerry warned Syria's government and its backers in Moscow and Tehran on Tuesday that they face an August deadline for starting a political transition to move President Bashar Assad out, or they risk the consequences of a new U.S. approach toward ending the 5-year-old civil war (war of aggression)."
Who does John Kerry think he (or his country) are to make such demands? And what are they planning to do that they don't do already: funding and issuing payroll to terrorists, sending them arms, lying and dispensing propaganda against the Syrian government?
Mr. Crackpot Kerry continued:
"If Assad does not adhere to this, there will clearly be repercussions. One of them may be the total destruction of the cease-fire and then go back to war. I don't think Russia wants that. I don't think Assad is going to benefit from that. There may be even other repercussions being discussed. That is for the future."
So as is patently obvious, the US intends to intensify its help for terrorists and the Syrian people be damned.
Artistic and General Director, Valery Gergiev, and the Mariinsky Theater orchestra, performed in Palmyra on 5 May giving a concert intended to edify and comfort the Syrian people who have been the victims of terrorists and who have been under siege. However, western media strongly went on the attack. In fact, British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond said that the concert of the Mariinsky Theater orchestra in Syria's Palmyra was "a tasteless attempt to distract attention from ongoing air raids in Syria," (as it turns out, their own). How inhuman, insensitive, reprehensible and degenerate can he and the west be?
The US is fond of calling Dr. Assad (yes, he is a trained physician--makes for a real dictator, doesn't it?) a bloody dictator all the while having been caught lying about the chemical weapons attack perpetrated by the same terrorists the US supports. Such beloved head chopping "moderate" terrorists they are!
They are also fond of saying that Assad is using barrel bombs against his own people which is the most ridiculous lie of all. Barrel bombs are crude and primitive, propane tanks fired off on civilians BY THE TERRORISTS as anyone can see in numerous videos the terrorists themselves have made.
Surely Assad is not attacking his own people and surely he isn't going to use such a primitive weapon. The Syrian Arab Army is a fine, decent, brave, humane fighting force protecting the people of Syria from terrorists. Sorry, this barrel bomb nonsense does not compute.
Dictionary, Washington! Political transition is NOT winning at the negotiating table what you are unable to win on the battlefield. Assad will be going nowhere as long as his people want him, and they do by overwhelming majority.
Meanwhile, in a manner just like Hitler's invasion of Poland in 1939, US troops moved into Moldova with tanks, equipment and their ugly flags, against the protests of the people of Moldova.
NATO also announces that they are moving an additional four battalions of 4,000 troops into Poland and the three Baltic States, having advanced all the way to the Russian border.
More than ever, I think I know how people felt on 22 June, 1941, when German Nazi troops invaded the Soviet Union: the uncertainty about what's going to happen, not seeing an end in sight.
We are a hair trigger away from World War III. It could happen in Syria, it could happen on the border with Poland or the Baltic states, it could happen in former Ukraine, you know, where the US installed stooges/puppets who violated Ukrainian sovereignty and its Constitution by overthrowing the democratically elected government are busy using cluster bombs, missiles, tanks, phosphorous and artillery on innocent civilians.
9 May 1945 -- The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics defeated the worst scourge the world had ever seen and, in so doing, made the most tremendous of human sacrifices. Twenty-seven million Soviet men and women gave their lives fighting the fascist and racist tyranny unleashed by the German Nazi war machine.
I often reflect on how difficult life must have been for the soldiers and civilians then and wish that for a moment in time, I could do something to ease their suffering. The dirt, the cold, the heat, the hard ground instead of a soft bed...
Eight of every ten German soldiers were killed on the Eastern front that devastated almost 2,000 Soviet cities and towns, 70,000 villages and hamlets, 84,000 schools, 60,000 kilometres of railroad, 40,000 hospitals, 43,000 libraries, 32,000 industrial plants and 2,500 churches.
Factories were moved eastward, producing war materials 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Even after losing around half its industry in battles, the USSR was, by 1942, producing over five times more tanks than Germany. Furthermore, the industrial model adopted in the Soviet Union was one in which civilian plants were easily adaptable for military production.
Russia does not want war. Russia is more than aware that war is a bad thing.
But we now have the ugly head of fascism rising again. Rccent events have proven that western values are not "values" at all, but hypocrisy, perfidious racist murderous evil and cynicism at its egregious worst.
They shed tears for Charlie, for Paris, for Brussels and for one single special ops soldier killed in Afghanistan...but what about the nearly 8,000 people of Donbass that have been murdered by the Ukrainian army and fascists/Nazis?
There is hardly a mention that these Nazis installed in Kiev by the US are using military hardware and illegal weapons on women, children, pensioners...they are destroying lives, homes and infrastructure necessary for life. People and especially children are trying to live in basements, without food, without water, without electricity or gas.
Petro Poroshenko, puppet president of the former Ukraine, bragged that while children under his regime go to school, Donbass children are in basements. Why? Because he has directed his army to either kill or drive every single person out of Donass, be it woman or child, that will not accept his and US rule of the country.
Isn't he exhibiting everything that Victoria Nuland proudly declared:
"Since Ukraine's independence in 1991, the United States has supported Ukrainians as they build democratic skills and institutions, as they promote civic participation and good governance, all of which are preconditions for Ukraine to achieve its European aspirations," she said. "We have invested over $5 billion to assist Ukraine in these and other goals that will ensure a secure and prosperous and democratic Ukraine."
2 May marked the second anniversary of the Odessa massacre which saw anywhere from 48 to 200 persons burned alive, shot, beaten or strangled by Nazi, rightist and nationalist forces, but the west is silent about it. There were no words, no representatives to speak about it, much less show any sign of remorse, compassion or anger. We may never know the true extent of this horrendous war crime.
Be it known, however, that fascism WILL NOT PASS!!!
The real, ugly face of the US government and its arrogant contempt for international law and norms couldn't be more blatantly obvious. They consider themselves "exceptional" and "indispensable." It would be a joke if it weren't so deadly to the rest of humanity.
They are also followed by their lap dogs in Europe either by virtue or bribery or blackmail. Obama boasted that "occasionally we have to twist the arms of countries to do what we want them to do."
The failure to acknowledge this death and destruction is forever a stain and a black mark on the US and Europe and consequently they must never presume to teach any other country about morals, democracy or freedom.
Now it is on our shoulders. They must be stopped before they destroy all of humanity. We find ourselves again faced with the same evil forces of fascism wreaking death, havoc and destruction.
These forces will be met, turned back and defeated by...the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of that awesome, incredible wonderful generation of selfless, courageous heroes as we hereby dedicate ourselves to that task on this 9 May 2016.
All are welcome to join!
